Overview
3D scans begin by placing tracking dots along an object at key points and scanning it using software like "GoScan3D! ". These processes can vary depending on the archive. After an object is scanned, it usually comes in multiple pieces and requires being merged together. (See Note on technology used) This tutorial is on how to effectively clean up 3D scans for display in a collection. It assumes you have merged and scanned the object beforehand. This is just my process from my work in archives, there are many different processes that archivists use.
